Consultations on Phase I of the review (the marine oil spill regime currently in place south of 60° N latitude) have concluded. This section of the website provides information on key issues explored by the Panel, stakeholder discussions, sites visted, and submissions received.
Phase I of the Tanker Safety Expert Panel has been completed and their report “ A Review of Canada’s Ship-source Oil Spill Preparedness and Response Regime—Setting the Course for the Future,” is now available on this website.
In addition, an abstract of the “Risk Assessment for Marine Spills in Canadian Waters – Phase 1: Oil Spills South of the 60th Parallel," which informed the Panel’s review, is also available on Transport Canada’s website.
