The Canadian Aviation Regulations list the requirements for certifying aeronautical products including repairs. The regulations define a minimum expectation of technical capability to apply for a repair design approval. Repairing a product back into compliance with type design of the product can be complex or simple, so the scope of work will depend on the complexity of the design change.
Request a repair design approval for an aeronautical product
A Repair Design Approval is a document issued by the Minister to record the approval of:
- a repair design for an aeronautical product identified by a serial number
- a repair process for an aeronautical product or any of its components, identified by a serial number, by a part number or by some other identification unique to the component
