Zero-emission vehicles

As of October 1, 2024, only zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) that are made in Canada or in countries with which Canada has a free-trade agreement, may be eligible under the Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles (iZEV) Program and the Incentives for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Zero-Emission Vehicles (iMHZEV) Program. For ZEVs manufactured in a country with which Canada doesn’t have a free trade agreement, they may be eligible if they already are in Canada or are in transit to Canada before October 1, 2024. For the purposes of eligibility, “in transit" shall be defined as goods destined for Canada that are under the custody and control of a carrier.
