Registering in the Canadian Register of Vessels: Get a provisional certificate

Fee: $150

It is not mandatory to apply for a provisional certificate of registry, but you may apply for one if you:

  • are an owner and you have submitted all your documentation but you are waiting for an appointed tonnage measurer to submit the tonnage documents
  • are a Canadian builder and need to perform sea trials

A provisional certificate of registry is valid for a maximum of 6 months.

To get this certificate:
