Public notice: Important Notice to Cap-aux-Meules Port Users

Transport Canada informs Cap-aux-Meules Port users that starting on August 19, 2025, a section of the protective riprap located near the ferry terminal area will undergo consolidation work to improve protection in that section of the port. The work will last until approximately March 31, 2027.

To protect the public and workers during the repair work, Transport Canada will restrict access to certain parking spaces along the construction site, and some traffic lanes will be modified. Signage and fencing will be installed to indicate the restricted area.

The inspector will communicate the outcome of the assessment to the authorized representative by email, along with a copy of the issued safe manning document. This communication will provide specific details about the evaluation and the rationale behind the decisions. If more information regarding the assessment is needed, the authorized representative may follow up with the inspector.

Evaluation of your safe manning application will lead to one of the following outcomes.

Before you apply
