Before you register
Plan ahead
Before you register you will need to decide on a secure sign-in method, either GCKey or via an online banking partner. Learn more about your sign-in options.

Do you need to register?
If you or your organization imports, offers for transport, handles, or transports dangerous goods in Canada, you may have to register.
You do not have to register if all the dangerous goods at any of your sites are under one of the following exemptions:
Client Identification Database (CID)
If your organization imports, offers for transport, handles, or transports dangerous goods in Canada, you should complete the CID questionnaire to see if you need to register with Transport Canada’s Client Identification Database (CID).

How to pay
These services include fixed fees which are due when you apply. Transport Canada will send you an invoice. You can pay:

Payments can be made securely online 24/7 via the Online Payment System by:

By cheque
Write your invoice number in the memo section of your cheque, make it payable to the “Receiver General for Canada” and mail to:
