Funding to help Canada's rail sector research, develop, and implement innovative technologies, tools, and approaches to reduce complex risks climate change and extreme weather.

Rail Rail Safety Improvement Program

Funding for rail safety improvements to prevent injuries and fatalities.

Marine Abandoned Boats Program

Funds projects that remove abandoned and wrecked small boats or that promote boat recycling and environmental awareness.

Marine Ballast Water Innovation Program

The Ballast Water Innovation Program (BWIP) helps industry address technical and operational challenges with a Ballast Water Management System (BWMS) in the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River (GLSLR) region, whose waters are cold, fresh, and mixed with sediment.

Marine Boating Safety Contribution Program

Funds projects that promote safer boating or that study ways to change boating behaviours.

Marine Community Participation Funding Program

Funds Indigenous groups and members of local communities who wish to participate in planning changes to marine transportation in Canada.

Marine Ferry Services Contribution Program

Helps fund inter-provincial ferry services in Atlantic Canada and Eastern Quebec.

Marine Green Shipping Corridor Program

Funding for projects that contribute the establishment of green shipping corridors to support the decarbonization of the marine sector.

Marine Indigenous Participant Funding Program

The Indigenous Participant Funding Program (IPFP) funds projects and initiatives designed to support the capacity of Indigenous communities and organizations to participate in Canadian Navigable Waters Act (CNWA), the Wrecked, Abandoned or Hazardous Vessels Act (WAHVA) and the Federal Contaminated Sites Action Plan.

Marine Indigenous and Local Communities Engagement and Partnership Program

Supports long-term, ongoing involvement of local and regional groups in activities under the Oceans Protection Plan.

Marine Marine Safety Equipment and Training Initiative

The initiative will provide funding for equipment and training to eligible Indigenous communities to improve vessel safety and build an understanding of safety on the water.

Marine Marine Training Program

Funding to provide marine training to Indigenous people and adapt training to include Traditional Knowledge and culturally appropriate materials.

Funding for projects that improve the safety, efficiency and environmental responsibility of sealift and/or resupply operations in Arctic and Northern coastal communities.

Road Program to Advance Connectivity and Automation in the Transportation System

Funds projects that help advance new technology for transportation such as self-driving or data-sharing vehicles.

Road Road Safety Transfer Payment Program

Funding for Canadian projects that support Canada’s Road Safety Strategy 2025.

Road Zero-Emission Trucking Program - Call for Proposals

The ZETP will contribute to the safe and secure deployment of medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles (MHZEV) on Canadian roads, and associated charging and refuelling infrastructure.
